It is important to note that the vet who was at the Smyth Co. Animal Hospital in Jan. 2008 is no longer there. Another vet has taken over the practice. Please give them a chance. Check with them to see what their policies are. The staff is entirely new, even those at the front desk!

We called the Smyth Co. Animal hospital's emergency after hours line b/c we had a 2 week old orphan puppy that was dropped and stopped breathing for a moment and appeared to be injured. We were told that unless we were regular customers we could not have our puppy seen by the vet. It seems to me that helping animals, especially animals who are possibly dying should be a priority over whether or not we are regular customers. Too bad that the only animal hospital in town won't help a sick puppy. I guess this hospital has other priorities!!!!
